What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a component that the human body naturally produces mainly in the skin.
The basic structure of hyaluronic acid is two sugars: glucuronic acid and acetylglucosamine, which are continuously repeated. This compound leads to the creation of a large molecule, the hyaluronic acid we all know.
Hyaluronic acid has the amazing property of absorbing and retaining 1,000 times its molecular weight in water and at the same time neutralizes hyaluronic acid, an enzyme that significantly reduces moisture in the skin, greatly enhancing skin hydration. It stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin fibres, restoring skin elasticity.
