Cellulite

A major aesthetic problem!

Cellulite is a disorder of the normal functioning of connective tissue which is caused by toxin accumulation, local increase in the volume of fat cells and insufficient blood and lymph circulation.

Cellulite is a multifactorial condition. Its causes can be hormonal, poor blood and lymphatic function, heredity, lack of exercise, poor diet, alcohol, smoking and stress.

Its characteristic clinical picture is the orange peel appearance of the skin. It occurs mainly in women who have looser connective tissue than men and who are more often and more severely affected by hormonal imbalances. It usually appears on the legs but can also be seen on the abdomen and arms.

We encounter 3 forms of cellulite and 4 different stages of development.

Depending on the form of cellulite we choose the right way to treat it and our goal is to get to the stage where the cellulite is less or ideally not visible at all!

Types of Cellulite:
- Hard Cellulite which is compact and is usually found in women who play sports.
- Soft Cellulite which is soft and is found in women with muscle tone deficiency.
- Oedematous Cellulite that also shows swelling and occurs in women with poor lymph circulation and hormonal problems.

Stages of Cellulite:
- Stage 0, where no cellulite is visible in either standing or supine position.
- Stage 1, where cellulite is only visible if you press the skin.
- Stage 2, where cellulite is only seen standing up.
- Stage 3, where the cellulite is visible in both standing and supine positions.
